Michael Blake and Heartbeat Vietnam

Last month we visited 3 of our heart surgery recipients with one of our very generous donors, Michael Blake.

Michael shared his personal experience and explained why he is so involved with Heartbeat Vietnam. In 2015, Michael’s son Francis “Tê Giác” Dinh Blake was diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome during pregnancy. This made him realize how unfair it was that while he and his wife were able to afford to move from Vietnam to the USA to receive the best treatment possible, thousands of families in Vietnam don’t have that same opportunity for their children. Sadly, Francis passed away when he was only 3 months old, but up to this day, Michael, his wife Lam, and their family and friends still continue to send donations to Heartbeat Vietnam. These frequent donations have helped fund surgeries for many children

Many children are still in need of a heart surgery. With every donation received, one child is closer to receiving a surgery that will enable them to live a happier and healthier life. The pain Michael’s family went through after the loss of Francis should not be experienced by any other parent. With your donation, you can help fix the heart of not only a child, but their families as well.

Michael is now living in the USA with his wife Lam and his newborn daughter Sheena, who they believe is a gift from Francis.

Michael, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts! The children in Vietnam are very lucky to have supporters like you. Thank you!
