This week, Man Dat is finally able to return to school after recovering from his congenital heart defect!<\/p>\n

Today, on December 26th, Man Dat and his mother visited the office of VinaCapital Foundation to receive his encouragement gifts from the Heartbeat Vietnam program<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n

From the moment he was born, 9-year-old Man Dat’s life has been associated with frequent hospital visits. With the diagnoses of “pulmonary valve stenosis” and “ventricular septal defect,” Dat is truly a little warrior for underwent two interventions before turning 1 year old, followed by two surgeries to enable him to grow up and go to school like his peers. As he grows up, Dat still often turns pale whenever he engages in strenuous activities. Every 1 to 2 months, Dat has to visit the hospital for his heart check-ups. Acting as the main provider for the family, Man Dat’s mother shoulders the financial burden, including the costs of medications, follow-up visits, and monthly school fees for her child. When Dat was appointed for his third surgery in 2023, the family’s financial resources had already been depleted. A glimmer of hope shone upon Man Dat and his family when they received sponsorship for this life-saving surgery through VinaCapital Foundation’s Heartbeat Vietnam program.<\/p>\n

Representatives from the sponsor Fitness & Lifestyle Group and Heartbeat Vietnam visited Man Dat after his third surgery at the end of September, 2023.<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n

However, in early November, he was admitted to the hospital again due to infective endocarditis, a complication following his surgery. After being hospitalized for nearly 2 months, he was discharged last week. Yesterday, he had his check-up, and the results were positive.<\/p>\n

It has been a tough journey for the brave little boy, but the outcome has made it all worthwhile. Man Dat can now enjoy playing with his friends and pursue his favorite subject, Math, without any worries about his previously defective heart.<\/p>\n
