Worried by these unusual signs, she carried her baby and traveled more than 10 kilometers along mountain roads to Dak Glong Regional Medical Center.

Fortunately, by that time, the Center had received additional neonatal care equipment donated by VinaCapital Foundation in June 2025 through the Survive to Thrive program.

After an examination and the necessary tests, the baby received treatment using a double-sided phototherapy unit funded by the program. With timely treatment available right at the Center, the baby’s jaundice gradually improved, reducing the risk of severe complications that could affect the brain and even become life-threatening.

After seven days of phototherapy, the baby’s condition had stabilized. The little one returned home in their mother’s arms, with healthy, rosy skin and bright, alert eyes.

In remote communities where reaching higher-level hospitals can be difficult, every piece of medical equipment delivered locally makes a meaningful difference. It gives healthcare professionals better resources to provide timely care and treatment for children close to home.

VinaCapital Foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to the generous donors at the 2024 Survive to Thrive Gala and Parentinc for supporting the program and helping bring essential medical equipment to Dak Glong, giving more children the opportunity to receive better care in their own communities.

*The name has been changed to protect the individual’s privacy.*

In Bon Ka Nur, Quang Khe Commune, Lam Dong Province, the Ma ethnic minority community continues to face many challenges.
