250 Children Will Be Saved Thanks to The Charity Event Run For The Heart 2019

MORE THAN 6 BILLION VND RAISED FROM RUN FOR THE HEART 2019

Gamuda Land in collaboration with Heartbeat Vietnam continues to organize the 7^th annual Run For The Heart 2019 to raise funds to support children with congenital heart defects to have surgeries.
After 6 consecutive years of operation, the program has raised over 23 billion VND funds to help 900 children receive free heart surgeries, bringing a normal, healthy life and bright future to the children.
The 7th Run For The Heart 2019 successfully exceeded the expectation (5 billion dongs) when raising funds up to 6,252,016,000 VND, equivalent to nearly 250 poor children will receive heart surgeries. The number of attendees for this year’s event also reached a record, with 15,000 running participants, far exceeding the previous year’s figures.

On November 24, 2019, Gamuda Land JSC. (HCMC) (“Gamuda Land”) and Heartbeat Vietnam project under VinaCapital Foundation (“VCF”) successfully organized the Run for Heart charity running event in Celadon City, Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City with a total amount of funds raised is to 6,252,016,000 VND, equivalent to over nearly 250 congenital heart defects children receiving free surgeries.

With the meaningful message “Heart to heart – Raise the lives”, Run For The Heart is the charity run program organized by Gamuda Land and Heartbeat Vietnam annually to raise funds for poor children nationwide to receive heart surgeries, bringing a normal, healthy life and a bright future to the children. Being initiated in 2013, after 6 consecutive years of operation, the program has raised over 23 billion VND funds to help 900 children receive free heart surgeries. With the wonderful results that the 7^th Run For The Heart has brought, the number of Vietnamese children saved by the program has increased to over 1,000 children, as well as the total fund raised has nearly reached 30 billion VND.

According to VCF estimation, every year in Vietnam, there are approximately 16,000 children are born with congenital heart disease, of which 7,500 need urgent surgeries. If the treatment is not on time, thousands of them will pass away before turning 18. Depending on the status, surgery costs can vary from 1,500 USD to 7,000 USD, which is unaffordable for poor families in remote areas. Thousands of children are waiting for a miracle to have healthy hearts. In sympathy with this circumstance since 2013, Gamuda Land has been continuously contributing to raise awareness and call for action to save the children in need as well as provide opportunities for thousands of families across the country.

The 7^th Run for the Heart in 2019 is a big success for the organizers. In addition to the impressive fundraising, the program also attracted over 15,000 people to join the run, including students, employees of many organizations as well as numerous families in the city. The program continues to receive the enthusiastic companionship of many celebrities who have a high influence on society. The artists who accompany Run For The Heart 2019 such as singer Phuong Vy, Ha Nhi, Trong Hieu, ST Son Thach, Miss Tourism Ngoc Diem, Singer Y Kroc, actress Viet Trang, actor Dong Hai are proud to join the run to “Connect the heartbeat” in the green campus of Celadon City – “the Green Lung” in the west of Saigon.
