In Vietnam, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for family gatherings, colorful lanterns, lion dances, and childhood memories. For children spending the holiday in the hospital, bringing these traditions to their side can help them feel part of the celebrations.

On September 17, “Colors of Full Moon” brought this festive spirit to Hall B of Children’s Hospital 2, where children receiving treatment in the Oncology Department gathered with their families.

Inspired by the story of the “Reunion Moon,” which draws on the full moon as a symbol of family togetherness, the program offered children and parents a welcoming space to celebrate, connect, and express their love in their own ways.

Creative activities, including making a shared “Reunion Moon” and crafting lanterns, gently encouraged emotional expression and family connection. Each activity gave families an opportunity to create meaningful memories, exchange loving messages, and enjoy being together.

A lively lion dance and the beat of drums brought festive energy to the morning’s lantern procession. Before the celebration ended, 170 Mid-Autumn Festival gift packages were given to the children.

“Colors of Full Moon” was jointly organized by Can-Clover, a program of VinaCapital Foundation, and KARE, a program of Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise, with support from sponsors and Children’s Hospital 2.

VinaCapital Foundation extends its sincere thanks to Mattel, Central Retail Vietnam, The Reply Law Firm, Bakes JSC, and the National Humanitarian Portal 1400 for helping bring festive gifts and joyful moments to the children.

VinaCapital Foundation also deeply appreciates Children’s Hospital 2 for its coordination and support, as well as all the volunteers and partners who helped bring each activity to life.
