Initiated in 2019 by Mr. Phil Jordan, Hills4Hearts is an annual charity running event. All proceeds from the event are donated to VinaCapital Foundation’s Survive to Thrive program to enhance the healthcare capacity for newborn care in rural healthcare facilities with high neonatal mortality rates in Vietnam.

This year, the running event and fundraising activities will take place in Australia to raise funds for essential neonatal medical equipment for the medical center in Tuan Giao district, Dien Bien province, Vietnam. In addition, you can join hands with Hills4Hearts by buying our running shirts.

Tuan Giao District Medical Center was established in Dien Bien province in 2005. However, over the course of nearly two decades, the facilities and medical equipment have gradually deteriorated, while the number of patients has increased. The majority of residents in the area belong to ethnic minorities, with 50% being Thai, 30% Mong, and others. According to the survey, Tuan Giao District Medical Center reported alarmingly high infant and child mortality rates of 20.1‰ and 27.3‰, respectively, which are significantly higher than the national average of 13.9‰.

From March to June 2024, each Hills4Hearts T-shirt sold will contribute to providing timely medical intervention for premature or critically ill newborns in Tuan Giao district, Dien Bien province, and surrounding areas.
