On May 9, 2026, VinaCapital Foundation (VCF), in coordination with the Cao Bang Provincial People’s Committee and Bao Lam Commune People’s Committee, organized the closing ceremony of the “Care & Share” program supporting disaster relief and recovery efforts in Cao Bang Province. The event marked the completion of a series of relief and community recovery activities implemented following Typhoon Yagi in 2024. The program was carried out with the support of various partners and donors, including HSBC Vietnam, to implement emergency relief and reconstruction activities in the local community.

Launched in September 2024, VCF’s Care & Share program aims to provide emergency assistance and long-term recovery support for communities severely affected by natural disasters across Vietnam.
According to local authorities, Typhoon Yagi caused significant damage across Cao Bang Province in 2024. Prolonged heavy rainfall and landslides severely damaged roads, schools, and healthcare facilities, directly impacting the daily lives and livelihoods of local residents. Many households faced shortages of essential supplies, lacked access to clean water, and experienced difficulties accessing healthcare services. In remote and mountainous areas, already-limited infrastructure further complicated recovery efforts. Most affected residents were ethnic minority communities living in economically disadvantaged mountainous regions.

In response to these challenges, the program implemented a range of support activities in Bao Lam District, including organizing mobile healthcare clinics and distributing free medication to residents in affected communes; providing medical equipment for Bao Lam Hospital; installing seven clean water filtration systems at healthcare facilities; supporting the restoration of Nam Quang healthcare infrastructure; and renovating three educational institutions damaged by the disaster.

As part of the program, HSBC Vietnam also coordinated the “Community Recovery Activity: Decorating a School of Hope ” event at Na Ca campus of Bao Lam Kindergarten in Cao Bang Province on the same day. The event featured a variety of activities for students, including interactive games, classroom decoration activities, and improvements to the learning environment. These activities contributed to creating a more positive and encouraging school environment for local students and teachers.

Since 2014, HSBC Vietnam has partnered with VinaCapital Foundation in various community initiatives related to healthcare, education, and disaster recovery support across Vietnam. The continued support from HSBC Vietnam, together with other partners and donors, has contributed significantly to enabling VCF’s community programs to be implemented in a timely and effective manner, reaching communities most heavily affected by natural disasters. In Cao Bang Province, HSBC Vietnam’s support has contributed to helping local communities gradually restore essential infrastructure, improve healthcare conditions, and stabilize daily life following the disaster.
