Earlier this month, northern Vietnam was struck by two powerful storms – Typhoons Matmo and Bualoi – within just one week. Despite the government’s swift and effective evacuation efforts that saved countless lives, 39 people tragically lost their lives, and the damage left behind is immense: an estimated 1.5 billion USD in losses, with tens of thousands of homes, schools, and healthcare facilities destroyed or damaged. Once again, it is the children and their mothers who bear the heaviest burden from natural disasters.
We all hope for a quick recovery but that is not happening – more help is needed and we cannot do this without you.

As Mr. Vu Dinh Quang, President of the Cao Bang Fatherland Front Committee, shared in an appeal letter issued by Cao Bang DOFA:
“The impact of storms and floods has been severe, leaving many households and individuals in urgent need of support. Cao Bang province is actively implementing measures and mobilizing resources to rebuild infrastructure, restore production, and safeguard people’s livelihoods. With the limited budget capacity and in the spirit of national solidarity – ‘Mutual love’ and ‘The healthy leaves protect the torn ones’ – the Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Cao Bang province sincerely calls on all sectors of society, including civil servants, armed forces personnel, agencies, organizations, businesses, and philanthropists both within and outside the province, to extend their support. We appeal for heartfelt contributions – both spiritual and material—to help the people of Cao Bang recover from the devastation, resume production, and rebuild their lives.”
