Over two days, August 22-23, 2026, the Rural Outreach Clinics Program visited Dai Lanh Commune Health Station and Nam Khanh Vinh Commune Health Station in Khanh Hoa Province, bringing access to cardiac screening and diagnosis closer to children in the local communities.

In collaboration with the University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City and the Khanh Hoa Center for Social Protection and Social Work, doctors provided direct examinations, echocardiograms, and consultations for the children, helping detect congenital heart abnormalities at an early stage.

Screening results: 338 children received cardiac screening and echocardiograms. Among them, 5 children were diagnosed with congenital heart defects, and 2 were recommended for intervention.
VCF will continue to support children who are recommended for intervention or surgery but face financial difficulties, helping ensure that every child has the opportunity to access appropriate treatment and return to a healthier life.

In Khanh Hoa, over the past 18 years, the program has screened 8,726 children, identifying 1,064 children with congenital heart defects. Of these, 927 were recommended by doctors for early surgery.
