On October 2, 2026, Roche Vietnam (Diagnostics) and VinaCapital Foundation (VCF), in coordination with the Vinh Long Department of Education and Training, handed over a water filtration system to Hoa Thuan Primary School in Hoa Thuan ward, Vinh Long province. Using reverse osmosis (RO) technology with a capacity of 150 liters per hour, the system provides safe drinking water directly from the tap for 841 students and 46 teachers, administrators, and staff, helping improve health and well-being at school.

In Vinh Long, drought and saltwater intrusion pose challenges to maintaining freshwater supplies for daily use and production, particularly during the dry season. In this context, investing in school-based water treatment solutions helps schools better meet the daily drinking water needs of students and teachers.

Hoa Thuan Primary School currently uses rainwater storage tanks for its daily water needs. To help the school provide safe drinking water more reliably, Roche partnered with VCF’s Clean Water program to install the filtration system as part of the “Clean Water and Safe Sanitation for Children in Vinh Long Province” project and presented over 800 study toolkits to the children. The system gives 887 students, teachers, administrators, and staff access to treated drinking water on campus, meeting their daily needs and contributing to a safe, healthy learning environment.

Speaking on behalf of Roche Vietnam (Diagnostics), General Manager Mr. Ricky, He stated: “This initiative goes beyond simply supplying clean water—it is focused on lowering the incidence of waterborne diseases linked to poor water quality and safeguarding a healthier, brighter future for upcoming generations. Our objective is to lighten this burden and improve children’s well-being through access to safe drinking water. Installing this 13th system in Vinh Long in 2026 builds upon the 12 systems Roche Vietnam has supported across Daklak, Ben Tre, and Quang Ngai since 2022. Together, these installations support nearly 6,000 students and educators, reflecting our long-term commitment to generating a meaningful, positive societal impact.”

Mr. Rad Kivette, CEO of VinaCapital Foundation, shared: “Daily access to clean drinking water is essential for children to stay healthy and focus on learning. Through the filtration system at Hoa Thuan Primary School, we hope to help the school better care for its students, starting with this fundamental need. VCF sincerely thanks Roche Vietnam for its partnership, and the Vinh Long Department of Education and Training and the school for their support in making this project possible and bringing practical benefits to students and teachers.”

The collaboration between Roche Vietnam, VCF, and local education authorities reflects a shared commitment to improving health and well-being in schools. By providing clean drinking water on campus, the project helps lay the foundation for children to stay healthy and participate fully in learning, play, and activities that support their development.
