Quang Nam, June 13, 2025 – The Survive to Thrive program by VinaCapital Foundation (VCF), in collaboration with KMS Technology, has donated 12 essential pieces of neonatal medical equipment to the Nam Tra My District Medical Center, and conducted a pediatric and neonatal emergency resuscitation training for local healthcare staff.

The project aims to strengthen the capacity of local medical teams and improve the quality of neonatal care in mountainous areas, with a total funding of nearly 382 million VND, sponsored by KMS Technology.

In addition, the Survive to Thrive program and KMS Technology organized various recreational activities for pediatric patients, including the construction of a dedicated play area to support emotional recovery during and after treatment.

“Our collaboration with the Survive to Thrive program once again affirms KMS’s commitment to contributing to the sustainable development of our community. This meaningful initiative not only brings better health opportunities to children in Nam Trà My district but also allows our employees to participate directly—spreading humanistic values and strengthening bonds with the community.” — Mr. Nguyen Linh Viet, HR Manager, KMS Technology Da Nang.

Nam Tra My District, located in the mountainous southwestern part of Quang Nam Province, is one of the six poorest districts in the province and is included in the list of 74 poorest districts nationwide for the 2021–2025 period under Prime Minister’s Decision No. 353. The district currently has nearly 2,600 impoverished households (accounting for 30.7%) and nearly 280 near-poor households out of a total of about 8,500. Ethnic minorities make up 97% of the population, primarily from the Bh’noong, Xe Dang, and Ca Dong ethnic groups.

The district’s rugged terrain — with high mountains, steep landslide-prone slopes, and a complex network of rivers and streams — makes it frequently susceptible to natural disasters such as flash floods, rockslides, and landslides. These conditions often interrupt transportation and pose significant challenges to accessing healthcare, emergency, and relief services.

Despite attention and support from the government and local authorities, living conditions and access to modern healthcare and education remain limited due to ethnic and cultural characteristics.

By providing modern medical equipment and improving the professional capacity of healthcare workers, the Survive to Thrive program in partnership with KMS Technology aims to contribute to reducing the neonatal mortality rate in Nam Tra My District, Quang Nam Province.

The project not only improves community health but also reflects compassion and social responsibility—ensuring that every child, even in remote and underserved areas, has the opportunity to live a healthy life, access quality healthcare, and enjoy a safe and happy childhood.
