This May 5 and for the whole month of May 2020, VinaCapital Foundation is responding to meet the needs of children with congenital heart defects by calling for donations to help the children get their life-saving surgeries in a timely manner, to aid their desperate parents, who are now suffering from the socio-economic consequences of COVID-19, and to provide continuing care and protection from the contagious pandemic for our precious children.
With COVID-19’s devastating health consequences and disastrous impact on the economy, fearful mothers and fathers who have children with CHDs are at a desperate disadvantage. They were poor to begin with and now many have lost their jobs and their small and unstable sources of income no longer exist. They are now struggling to make ends meet and to take care of their children with CHDs. Children with CHDs are one of the most vulnerable groups to viruses because their hearts are weak already and inefficient oxygen supply to their lungs means that when the respiratory-focused COVID-19 attacks, the children do not have a chance of survival. If they cannot receive a timely operation, their chance of survival greatly reduces.
On the other hand, children cannot go to school, and traveling for medical checks becomes impossible. Parents need more support than ever to improve their financial situation and children with CHDs need sufficient nutrition and care. Moreover, post-surgery care is extremely important, without proper follow-up health checks, children with CHDs can never fully recover from their heart defects. Our support for the children’s continuous care and protection is needed now more than ever.
“We need to take action immediately to ensure families and communities are safe and healthy so that they can recover as soon as possible. With your help, VinaCapital Foundation would be able to fulfill our commitment to providing access to the resources those families need, as well as health care for our babies regardless of the current situation. We hope this campaign will help protect people during this pandemic and empower them to have a better future.” shared Mr. Rad Kivette, CEO, Executive Director of The VinaCapital Foundation.
You can help NOW with any big or small donation because YOUR help is needed now more than ever.
