GeoComply supports underprivileged children with congenital heart defects during children’s awareness month

In celebration of Children’s Awareness Month, GeoComply donated 223,680,000 VND to VinaCapital Foundation’s (VCF) Heartbeat Vietnam (HBVN) program to provide life-saving surgeries for underprivileged children born with congenital heart defects. On June 5th, GeoComply and HBVN visited the home of Cam Tu, one of the 8 children who received surgical support through GeoComply’s donation.

Cam Tu, born in 2013 in Ninh Binh province, was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect just a few months after birth. Seeing her bright smile and cheerful face, it’s hard to believe that she underwent two heart surgeries at just 6 months and 2 years old to fight for her life. Her family later decided to relocate to Ho Chi Minh City in 2018 to allow her respiratory difficulties to be treated in a warmer climate. With a low income that barely makes ends meet, the family is still paying off bills from past procedures. Cam Tu, fortunately, now has the opportunity to get the third operation to mend her little heart thanks to GeoComply’s assistance through the HBVN program. She is now being monitored and getting ready for her major operation.

VCF and HBVN gratefully acknowledge GeoComply’s considerable support and contributions to our healthcare and education programs. VCF and GeoComply’s collaboration from the beginning of 2022 demonstrates a strong joint commitment to the development of underserved communities in Vietnam, particularly children, and women. Previously, GeoComply collaborated to provide free education and scholarships to 38 disadvantaged Covid-19 orphans in Ho Chi Minh City, to establish one Girls’ Club to annually empower 40 high school ethnic minority girls, transforming them into agents of change in their rural communities, and to provide life-saving heart surgeries to 10 disadvantaged children with congenital heart defects.
