This year’s Da Nang International Marathon was held on August 6th and welcomed more than 5,000 runners. The race is an exciting invitation for both local and international runners to go explore this exotically beautiful beach city and experience one of the most magnificent marathon courses in South East Asia.
The day before the marathon, various activities were conducted at Bien Dong Park during an event known as “Family Fun Day.” Manulife, one of our great supporters, decided to use this occasion to raise funds for Heartbeat Vietnam through interactive and interesting activities such as the treadmill game and blood pressure examination.
Two treadmills were set up on their activation tent. Every participant was given 2 minutes to run on the treadmill and try to reach the highest level (level 4). The further they ran, the more money they raised. In the end, the game attracted over 1,000 participants, raising USD 25,000 for Heartbeat Vietnam.
On the other hand, the Manulife “Wellness Corner” had doctors and nurses from Hoan My Da Nang Hospital examining blood pressure and explaining basic heart health information to participants.
We want to give special thanks to Manulife for their dedication to raising a healthier generation in Vietnam, and to Hoan My Da Nang Hospital and Da Nang Volunteer Club for always standing beside Heartbeat Vietnam. Thanks to your incredible support, 22 poor children will be saved with heart surgery! Thank you!
