On November 25, Heartbeat Vietnam and the MMSoft Company Ltd. paid a visit to the Heart Institute of Ho Chi Minh City and presented gifts to Minh Tai and Gia Vy, two children with congenital heart defects. The Heartbeat Vietnam initiative funded the heart operations for these children.
Minh Tai, a Chams ethnic minority child, is the second son in a family of two. Tai had no cardiac symptoms from birth until he was more than 7 years old. Tai panicked when he heard the fireworks on New Year’s Eve 2022, his heart beat quickly, and he fainted. He was diagnosed with congenital heart defects at the Heart Institute of Ho Chi Minh City and assigned early heart surgery. After the heart operation, Tai’s health significantly improved; he can now run and play with his friends without having trouble breathing.
Little Gia Vy was discovered to have congenital heart defects while in the womb. He had a stent placed at Children’s Hospital 1 in September 2017. He had another stent procedure at Children’s Hospital 2 in August 2018. Gia Vy underwent open-heart surgery at the Heart Institute of Ho Chi Minh City in May 2018. Gia Vy’s fatigue and weakness have been reduced since his heart surgery in September, and he no longer faints unexpectedly. Fortunately, his appetite has increased and he has gained weight.
During this hospital visit, MMSoft Company Ltd. also donated 100,000,000 VND to the Scar of Life event to help provide heart surgeries for 3 disadvantaged children with congenital heart defects. The representative of MMSoft Company Ltd. – Mrs. My Nguyen also encouraged the children’s families and commit to accompanying Heartbeat Vietnam in bringing children with congenital heart defects better lives.
