More than 10,000 disadvantaged children in Quang Ngai and Tra Vinh have received free screening for congenital heart defects

The dedicated team from VinaCapital Foundation’s Rural Outreach Clinics is always prepared to travel through remote roads and climb steep hills, regardless of the weather, to reach children in far-flung areas.

Recently, we have conducted two successful rounds of congenital heart defect screening in Quang Ngai province, taking place from April 25 to 28, and from September 12 to, 2023; and another screening session in Tra Vinh province on September 7 & 8, 2023.

During these journeys, the program screened the hearts of 10,019 children, uncovering 56 little ones with congenital heart defects, 27 of whom require urgent surgery. Those facing challenging circumstances will receive surgical support through the VinaCapital Foundation’s Heartbeat Vietnam program.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Quang Ngai Provincial Child Protection Fund, the Association for the Support of Disabled People and Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Tra Vinh Province, Hoan My Hospital Da Nang, Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise, and the MoMo community for their invaluable support in making these free heart screening trips to Quang Ngai and Tra Vinh possible.

The beaming smiles of these children serve as the inspiration for the Rural Outreach Clinic team to continue our mission of safeguarding the hearts of little ones throughout Vietnam, ensuring that each child receives a heart check-up at least once in their lifetime.
