Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is not simply a few small sponsorship activities, but it is a journey that requires a long-term vision, patience, and dedication from purpose to implementation.
According to a survey by Nielsen in 2017, up to 86% of consumers in Vietnam, when asked, are willing to pay higher prices for products or services of companies with a commitment to community development and the environment. Nearly 90% of enterprises participating in Vietnam Report’s 2018 survey said that corporate reputation is the driving force for businesses to implement CSR. This means that more and more businesses in Vietnam believe that implementing corporate social responsibility is the key to ensuring their success, as well as building and maintaining the trust of consumers and the community as a whole.

As part of the 2021 social responsibility strategy of Phu Bao Group and the Perfetta mask brand, in cooperation with the Heartbeat Vietnam program – VinaCapital Foundation (VCF), the “Perfetta accompanies little heartbeats” campaign was officially launched on May 10, 2021, with the goal of supporting the cost of heart surgeries for 22 disadvantaged children with congenital heart defects in Northern, Central and Southern Vietnam. In addition, Phu Bao Group Company and the Perfetta mask brand also support the post-operative costs and check-ups for the children, helping to reduce the economic burden on families and enable their parents to return to work and strive to rise out of poverty.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Health, every year in Vietnam, about 10,000-12,000 children are born with congenital heart defects that need early diagnosis and intervention, but only nearly half of them receive surgery while the rest have to wait and even die before being diagnosed. Depending on the patient’s condition, the cost of heart surgery ranges from 50 to 250 million VND, which is too expensive for poor families in remote rural areas with incomes of only a few tens of thousands of VND per day.

In addition to sponsoring free heart surgeries, the campaign plans to organize recreational events for pediatric patients being treated at VinaCapital Foundation’s partner hospitals to accompany and encourage the children during treatment. Through operating events, preparing meaningful gifts, and organizing useful fun activities for pediatric patients, PBG staff will have the opportunity to directly contribute their efforts and enthusiasm to social activities.
