In order to bring a bright smile and a better future for children born with a heart defect all over Viet Nam, the annual charity event “Run For The Hearts” – a joint effort of Heartbeat Vietnam and Gamuda Land Joint Stock Company will come back with a message “Hearts to hearts, Raise the Life”. The program will take place at 6:00 AM on Sunday morning, 12th November 2017 in Son Ky ward, Tan Phu district, Ho Chi Minh city. More than 15.000 people will participate in this event to help impoverished children. All of the proceeds will be transferred to Heartbeat Vietnam.

Connecting the heartbeat, raising the hope for future generations

Over 12.000 children are born with congenital heart defects every year in Vietnam. Among them, up to 6.000 babies have to wait, and eventually, pass away before diagnosis. Doctors always recommend that these children should undergo surgery and treatment in their early childhoods. However, the surgery cost ranges from 54.000.000 VND to 190.000.000 VND, which is unaffordable for many families.

Every parent´s wish is to see their children grow up healthy, go to school and play with their friends; however, poor families with children with CHD normally give up or desperately wait for a miracle. Fortunately, their hopes about a new future for their children are lightened up thanks to the annual charity event “Run for the Hearts”

After 4 years, “Run For The Hearts” has attracted over 48.000 individuals, raised nearly 10,6 billion VND, and saved 438 little hearts. In 2016 only, this program attracted nearly 20.000 participants in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi and raised up to 5.8 billion VND. All of the proceeds were transferred to pay for children’s surgeries. Continuing this success, Gamuda Land hopes that the 5th “Run For The Hearts” will receive more positive responses from the community

“Run For The Hearts 2017” attempts to have 15.000 runners joining together to raise funds for 120 impoverished children suffering from congenital hearts defects. Each participant, who donate a minimum of 100.000 VND, will bring about wonderful recoveries to hundreds of unfortunate little hearts as well as lighten the hopes of a better future to them.
