Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) – Vietnam Section donates 600 masks and 200 bottles of hand sanitizer to University Medical Center HCMC

On 17th April 2020, the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) – Vietnam Section paid a visit to University Medical Center HCM City Cardiovascular Department (UMC) to hand over 600 masks and 200 bottles of hand sanitizer. Those goods are generously donated by SPE to local hospitals and patients to ensure their health and safety in the middle of COVID-19.

During this trying time, these timely, life-saving gifts from SPE will bring much-needed protection for our children and their families, as well as for doctors and other health workers on the front line of fighting against coronavirus.

“As the serious situation of COVID-19 has been going on for months, the masks and hand sanitizers could not come at a better time. They are not only physical resources but also, more importantly, a gift of encouragement for all of us who are working in the hospital. We are beyond grateful for SPE and VCF’s support, and we hope to continue receiving your help in the future, to save more children’s lives.” MD, Ph.D. Nguyen Hoang Dinh – Head of the Cardiovascular Surgery Department, UMC Ho Chi Minh City, expressed his gratitude towards SPE’s donations.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Manager of VCF’s Capacity Programs also shared his heartfelt thoughts: “Even though VCF staff have been working from home for the past month, we have tried our best to maintain our programs as effectively as possible, and receiving SPE’s donation is a proof that our work continues to make a difference. We hope that with these masks and hand sanitizers, all health workers will stay safe and our children will be healthy. We wish to continue to work with both UMC and SPE to save more babies and transform communities, especially in the middle of the pandemic.”
