Thank You to The United Nations International School of Hanoi (UNIS Hanoi) for Saving Baby Truong An

Baby Truong An was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect when his mom was still pregnant with him. After being born prematurely and only 5 days old, he had to undergo a difficult stent operation to fix pulmonary artery stenosis. The second surgery to cure his APSO type II disease was scheduled in November 2019, but the family’s difficult financial situation delayed the much-needed operation. His dad, the family’s only source of income of 5,000,000 VND a month, is a blue-collar worker with an additional job as an assistant driver. This amount is not enough to cover daily expenses and Truong An’s treatment fees.

Luckily, UNIS students raised 1,200 USD for the Heartbeat Vietnam program from school fundraisers this past semester, helping Truong An get his heart surgery. This is the amount that every donor can contribute to saving a small heart, as Heartbeat Vietnam will join hands with other organizations as well as health insurance to support surgery costs for children with CHD.

Visiting An on 24th July, he was in great recovery and his mother is happier than ever. The VinaCapital Foundation would like to thank UNIS and their kind hearts for contributing to saving Truong An and for always accompanying Heartbeat Vietnam, saving 9 children with congenital heart defects since 2016. We look forward to continuing to receive your love and support to save many more children with congenital heart defects, giving them a healthier future.
