On July 9th, 2020, representatives from the VinaCapital Foundation, Heartbeat Vietnam and University Medical Center’s doctor visited Hong, Quang, and Truong – children with congenital heart defects who are urgently in need of heart surgeries at the Go Vap orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City.
Ms. Chi, the class’ teacher, shared that Truong is a smart and witty boy loved by his friends. Truong likes outdoor activities and running with his friends, but his heart defect causes him constant cyanosis, shortness of breath, fatigue, and issues in active activities. Though only three years old, Truong had to put a stent twice at Children’s Hospital 1. According to University Medical Center’s doctor, complicated CHD cases like Truong need further medical intervention, which means increased costs and time spent on treatment.
To support children at Go Vap Orphanage, representatives from the VinaCapital Foundation and Heartbeat Vietnam brought gifts like milk, cakes, and books for them and spent time hanging out with the children. VCF wishes to call for generous donors’ companionship with Heartbeat Vietnam, joining hands to contribute and support children so that they can grow up like their peers.
